Andrew Wiggins, the NBA’s reigning Rookie of the Year, will earn a $4 million contract this summer.
The Timberwolves are the latest team to make a $1 million signing for Wiggins, who had a breakout campaign for them this past season.
Wiggins is expected to receive the maximum salary of $3.1 million this season.
ESPN’s Marc Stein reported on Twitter on Monday that Wiggins would get the max, which is up from $1.9 million in 2015-16.
Wiggins had a fantastic first two years in Minnesota, averaging 16.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in the regular season.
He averaged 18.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game during the playoffs.
